Definitions
Benchmark #1: Plan Index (PI). The return from an equal distribution of a portfolio's dollar balance, reallocated each Action Report period, into each of the available fund choices. The Plan Index is essentially the average return of the funds included in the Horizon™ Model Portfolio.
Benchmark #2: Formulaic Asset Allocation (FAA). If your plan includes a Formulaic Asset Allocation (FAA) fund (e.g., Life Style, Life Cycle, Life Stage, Balanced, Target Date Fund, Balanced, etc.) then the performance of the domestic FAA fund in your plan that had the best return during the year prior to the start of each guarantee period. Otherwise, either the performance of a 70/30 equity/fixed income style mix of the best performing funds in the Horizon™ Model Portfolio during the year prior to the start of each guarantee period or the Fidelity Freedom fund that had the best return during the year prior to the start of each guarantee period.
